The processor manufacturer Intel is lowering their profit forecast during QE3, due to “weaker than expected in a challenging macro environment”. This is stated in a press release.
The company is estimating that the profit amounts to 13.2 billion USD during QE3, plus/minus 300 million USD, compared to the previous forecast 13.8-14.8 billion dollars.
Compared to previous estimations Intel can now see that their customers are reducing their supplies in the supply chain, compared to the normal pattern in the supply levels in QE3, and also an inferior development within the enterprise-pc-market segment, and in addition, a lower emerging market. The datacenter operations are however as expected.
Intel’s CPUs are a part of a long list of pc-brands together with Apples Mac-computers, which makes the company’s forecast change as a sign of that the computer-sales are about to drop.
